Singing live at Tottenham Court Road Station for BBC Radio London

A rush hour singalong to highlight the benefits of singing and music to your wellbeing.

BBC Music Day is a busy one for Eclipse Choir, who hurried from BBC Studios in Shepherds Bush over to Tottenham Court Road to sing again to the communters and shoppers in the central London station.

BBC Radio London interviewed our choir director, James Hawkins, to ask about the health benefits of singing:

“Can music help relieve stress?”

“Yes it’s the best stress reliever! Local music participation is a most powerful form of community – it builds, maintains and levels communities.”

Unfortunately, just as the choir got started singing, technical glitches with the transmission meant we weren’t able to hear it in full on the radio. However, I’m sure the choir delighted the passers by and station staff. Photos to follow!
