Come and sing The Armed Man
with Voices For Hospices Choir
Sunday 27/09/2015 10:00 am
This is a great opportunity for any singers to come and take part in a special event taking place at Kempton Park racecourse, in Surrey.
It is a mass sing of The Armed Man, by Sir Karl Jenkins, conducted by John Sutton, and the composer himself will be there.
It is all in aid of Voices for Hospices, a charity that promotes singing as a way of raising money and awareness of the hospice movement.
The event will form part of the celebrations of the Rugby World Cup, so there will be some family entertainment and some singing of iconic rugby songs as well. It forms part of the Festival of Rugby with fun for all the family and the Military Band of the Honourable Artillery Company will be accompanying some of the singing.
Our ethos at Eclipse Choir is to encourage members to get out and sing in the local community. Two of our members, Sue and Lynda, are helping with the event, which is extra incentive to invite as many of you as possible to join us to sing this wonderful piece, The Armed Man. If you are not familiar with it, it is an accessible piece, which can be practised at home, even without the ability to read music, as downloads of each part are available from Choraline.
Do come along and sing with us to make this a wonderful occasion, (we are hoping to get up to 4000 people singing), as well as raising lots of money for our local hospices.
To get tickets, go to the Voices for Hospices website – http://vfhchoir.com/ – more details are on the attached flyer.
